Excellent article and continuation on exploring JRuby internals. I endorse these as good explanations of how things work inside JRuby. Keep up the good work…

One thing which probably could have saved you a little time: jruby -S ast -e ‘a = 3; b = a’
Unpublished, but very useful for debugging parser problems…

I spent the better part of a few evenings researching the JRuby scope code. I think this one was a little harder than the method dispatching, but mostly because it required more intimate knowledge of the Ruby scoping rules.
